Triplets in Steppe Eagles are not uncommon, but an indicator of the good condition of the natural environment. Here it is! After many years of work the Global Action Plan for Steppe Eagle Aquila nipalensis has been presented. The document was also signed during the March' COP15 meeting in Brasil. The aim is to implement actions preventing the global extintion of this eagle species. Within this article the full document is presented.

The species is currently critically endangered, with the decline rate that has been raising utter concern to the researchers worldwide for decades. The main threat remains death on electricity poles - as inhabitant of open areas, any pole presents unresistible observation point for this eagle species - which in case of uninsulated powerlines means certain death. All other threats originate also from human activities - environmental changes (including mass rodent poisoning - the main food source for the eagle), catching and persecution and recently well known "ecological" wind farms.

The Aquila company for over 9 years has been actively supporting research of the Steppe Eagle's population aiming towards better knowledge of the species. The support was never proceeding according to plans, as instead of expected high mortality rate - especially in the early stages of the juveniles' life - majority of the tagged birds luckily survived all threats reaching adult age and starting own families. This turn of events did not worry us at all, proving that Aquila loggers stand out on the market with their long period of functionality. It was olny the additional "attractions" that humanity has recently brought to this planet, in the form of wars - and the resulting communication problems - that effectively disrupted the loggers' transmission of scientific data. Nevertheless part of the devices is still maintaining the connection.
